Filter Kappi

Traditional Indian coffee filter to make a strong brew

India is known for it's Chai, the milky black tea with aromatic spices. But very few know about it's legacy of coffee, found mostly in the south of India. The coffee beans used are Arabica and Robusta. The drip coffee filter used for Indian coffee is designed to make a strong concoction. The Indian Drip Filter consists of two cups stacked on one another. The top holds the finely ground cofee and boiling water, while the bottom collects the filtered brew. This thick strong filtered brew is then added to a cup of boiling milk with sugar. The Indian filter coffee is served in a stainless steel tumbler and a wide metal saucer with lipped walls called dabarah.

Why we like it

Indian Filter 'Kappi' is world's most delicious coffee (ok, so we are a little biased). Filter coffee is nostalgic to every Indian and every Indian loves this milky strong concoction. It is so unique in its preparation and the way it is served that we wanted to share it with the world.
