Amethyst GAIA Necklace

Detachable pendant made of Amethyst and hand-cast bronze “poid Baoulé”. The cord is made of Seashell sequins. Originating from Togo and Benin, seashell sequins are hand-made by women, who hand carve each sequin by sanding the edges on a block of granite. The necklace can be worn in multiple different ways.

 

This beautiful collection of jewelry is an initiative by a non-profit that aims to create economic and professional development opportunities for low-income women based in Ivory Coast.
