PRODUCT FROM JAPAN

Tawashi

Natural scrubbing brush

Made of fiber of a hemp palm, Kamonoko Tawashi is the most common scrubbing brush found in every Japanese house. Durable, strong and waterproof, tawashi is used for hard to remove stains and grease from pots and pans, sinks or bathtubs. Made out of natural fiber, it is also environmentally friendly and safe. Our Japanese friends also use it for many other things like scrubbing the dirt off potatoes etc. In Japanese, Kamenoko means turtle and Tawashi means scrubber. The name is in reference to its shape and its connection to water and longevity. This scrubber is made for those tough stains and should not be used for delicate, teflon-coated items.

Why we like it

Another example of simple and beautiful every day object. This product was recommend to us by our Japanese friend who brings it to US from every Japan visit. Every Japanese we spoke to has one in their kitchen. We truly love the environmentally friendly nature of it.
