Our obsession for Washi tape officially begun in February 2016 when we visited Japan. Washi tape is Japanese masking tape. It is made from natural fibers, such as bamboo or hemp or from bark of trees of mulberry, mitsumata shrub or the gampi tree. It looks delicate but is quite strong and comes in many many many beautiful patterns and colors. In Japan, everything is packed beautifully, even a pork bun at 7-11. Every shop has its own patterned tape to seal packages or envelopes. It is such a simple product but can make something look so special.
